Translate

A former CEO of UiTM Holdings Sdn Bhd pleaded not guilty at the sessions court here today to criminal breach of trust involving RM37.4 million in company funds.

Azlizan Fadzil is accused of misappropriating the sum, meant for investment in the development of a large-scale solar photovoltaic power generation project with a capacity of 50MW in Pahang.

The funds were allegedly used for other purposes instead. Azlizan is charged with committing the offence between February and October 2017.

The charge under Section 409 of the Penal Code is punishable by a jail term of between two and 20 years, whipping and a fine, upon conviction.

Judge Nasir Nordin granted Azlizan bail of RM50,000 with two sureties and ordered him to surrender his passport.

Case management is set for Nov 3.

Azlizan was represented by Hasshahari Johari Mawi while deputy public prosecutor Law Chin How appeared for the prosecution.
