‘Jailer 2’: What worked for Rajinikanth’s Rs 500 grosser?

The film’s climax brings together spectacle and star power, with Hrithik Roshan’s cameo adding an element of surprise. The final scene featuring Rajinikanth, Mohanlal, Shivarajkumar and Jackie Shroff is another major attraction, bringing several popular screen icons together in a sequence designed to appeal to fans.

Such appearances add to the sense of scale and give audiences moments to remember beyond the central storyline. The combination of familiar stars, high-energy action and Anirudh’s score reinforces the film’s emphasis on theatrical entertainment. For viewers invested in the larger-than-life appeal of the Jailer universe, these moments serve as some of the sequel’s most prominent highlights.

Ultimately, Jailer 2 draws much of its appeal from the combination of Rajinikanth’s enduring screen presence, Nelson Dilipkumar’s staging of mass moments, the supporting cast’s comic and dramatic contributions, Anirudh Ravichander’s score and the star power concentrated in the climax. While the screenplay has its uneven stretches, these elements help shape the film into a crowd-pleasing spectacle and contribute to its reported worldwide box-office haul of over Rs 500 crore.
