Translate

SEREMBAN: A 37-year-old man was charged at the magistrate's court with murdering his wife, a Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (MCBA) officer, on Oct 15.

Mohd Khairudin Safi'ai nodded to indicate that he understood the charge after it was read out to him before magistrate Nurul Saqinah Rosli.

He allegedly murdered Norhazwani Ibrahim, 35, at about 7pm at a unit in the KLIA Public Servants' Housing Complex on Oct 15.

He was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which provides for the death penalty or jail term of between 30 and 40 years and, if the death penalty is not imposed, a minimum of 12 strokes of the cane upon conviction.

No plea was recorded as cases under Section 302 of the Penal Code fall under the jurisdiction of the High Court.

Deputy public prosecutor Farah Wahidah Mohd Sharip requested a date for the mention of the post-mortem report.

The court fixed Dec 22 for mention, with no bail granted as the offence is non-bailable.
