Torino push for Adams renewal with contract entering final year

Torino want to tie Che Adams to a new contract, with the Scotland international’s current deal running out at the end of the season.
According to Tuttosport, via TuttoMercatoWeb, the forward picked up a low-grade adductor strain in his left thigh on the eve of the Roma game and also missed Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Bologna. The international break works in Ignazio Abate’s favour, with the aim to have him back for the visit of Udinese on 12 October.
Adams scored Torino’s only winner this season
His absence has been felt. Torino have scored five goals in five Serie A matches, two of them from Adams, a late consolation in defeat to Milan and the decisive strike in the win over Fiorentina at the Franchi, the Granata’s only victory of the campaign so far.
Despite that, his future was in doubt all summer. With his contract expiring on 30 June 2027, Torino listened to offers and considered a sale rather than risk losing him for nothing.
A renewal is now the priority, not least to avoid facing the same dilemma in January. The injury also ruled him out of Sebastien Pocognoli’s first Scotland squad.
