Kapil Pokhariya secures medal in men’s 90 kg boxing at Asian Games
The 26-year-old beat South Korea’s Kim Gichae by unanimous decision 5-0 to move to the semifinal and secure at least a bronze.

India’s Kapil Pokhariya won his quarterfinal bout in the men’s 90kg boxing event at the Asian Games 2026 on Monday to secure a medal.
The 26-year-old beat South Korea’s Kim Gichae by unanimous decision 5-0 to move to the semifinal and secure at least a bronze.
He will take on Uzbekistan’s Turabek Khabibullaev in the semifinal on Wednesday, September 30.
Kapil was also part of the boxing contingent at the Commonwealth Games but was eliminated in the quarterfinals by Scotland’s Robert McNutty.
