Jennifer Coolidge to Return for ‘The Watcher’ Season 2

“The Watcher” Season 2 is bringing back another original cast member, with Jennifer Cooldige officially set to return for the Netflix series as real estate agent Karen Calhoun.
It was announced last week that “The Watcher” was preparing to enter production on its second season four years after the first season aired. Naomi Watts, Bobby Cannavale, Margo Martindale, and Isabel Gravitt are all returning to the series as well.
Not long before “The Watcher” originally premiered, Coolidge won the first of her two Emmy Awards for the hit HBO series “The White Lotus.” Coolidge also won a Golden Globe for her work in the series. Her other recent credits include “A Minecraft Movie” and the series “Life & Beth” with Amy Schumer. She is also known for her roles in films like the “American Pie” franchise, “Best in Show” and “A Mighty Wind,” the “Legally Blonde” films, and “Promising Young Woman.”
She is repped by UTA and Mosaic.
Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan created “The Watcher,” with both serving as executive producers. Brennan serves as showrunner. Crystle Roberson Dorsey directs and executive produces, with Nissa Diederich, Karl Frankenfield, Scott Robertson, Todd Kubrak, Tanase Popa, Naomi Watts, Henry Joost & Ariel Schulman, Eric Newman & Bryan Unkeless, and Max Winkler executive producing. The series is based on the New York Magazine article “The Haunting of a Dream House” By Reeves Wiedeman.
“The Watcher,” which is loosely based on a true story of a family that buys a new home only to start receiving mysterious letters from someone calling themselves The Watcher, proved to be a hit when it premiered. The series tallied an impressive 125 million hours viewed in its first week on the streamer, moving up to 148 million hours in its second week. It ultimately spent five weeks on the Netflix global top 10 English language TV chart.
