Ariana Grande Shares Hope Boyfriend Ricky Álvarez Is Her "Last" Love

Ariana Grande is having trouble saving these tears.

The “Side to Side” singer shared that her dog Coco, a Dachshund and German Shepherd mix, had died at the age of 17 in a heartbreaking tribute.

“Sweetest, most amazing and most beautiful Coco,” Grande wrote on Instagram Oct. 19. “I am so proud of you. Thank you for your love, and for blessing this planet with your physical presence for over seventeen wonderful years.”

“You make everywhere you go a more beautiful place,” she continued. “I will miss you every day and hold you in my heart always. I love you so, sweet girl.”

Alongside the heartfelt message, the 33-year-old included several photos of Coco through the years, including pictures of her cuddling her precious pooch, one of Coco standing on Grande’s ballet slippers and another showing Coco’s 17th birthday celebration, which included a bone-shaped cake.

Grande also posted a video of Coco as she encouraged the sweet pet with affirmations for her “morning leap” from the front of the house, saying, “Come on girlie, come on you got it.”

Coco had been the sweetener in Grande’s life for most of her professional career. The “7 Rings” singer first shared the news that she had adopted Coco back in 2010 while she was still starring on the Nickelodeon series, Victorious. Since then Coco was practically a celebrity in her own right, starring alongside Grande in the music videos from “Put Your Hearts Up” in 2011 and “Positions” in 2020.

The pup even had her own X account for several years, @MissCocoGrande, complete with the bio, “I'm the Grande family doggy. I'm a very happy puppy with a prominent underbite. Lotsa lovin' & pigs' ears galore.”

Grande—who recently rekindled her romance with Ricky Álvarez amid her decision to step back from the spotlight—also included Coco in one of her very first YouTube vlogs back in 2012, interviewing her dog about her new music in a video titled, “Coco Breaks it Down.”

“Coco, how are you? Are you good? Do you like the new songs I've been writing?” Grande can be heard asking in the short clip. “Do you think that my fans are gonna like the music I've been writing and recording? Yeah. Hmm. Good stuff. All right. Thanks for your thoughts. Bye.”
