Translate

Taiwan’s Lin Tzu-yu (林姿妤) won her second consecutive Asian Para Games women’s singles table tennis gold Tuesday, defeating compatriot Tian Shiau-wen (田曉雯) in the class 10 final.

Lin prevailed 11-4, 11-7, 11-2 in just 13 minutes at the Aichi-Nagoya Games in Japan, completing a gold-silver sweep for Taiwan. She also defeated Tian in the final at the previous Games in Hangzhou, China, in 2023.

The longtime doubles partners had secured Taiwan’s top two podium places by winning their semifinals earlier Tuesday. Before the final, Tian said she enjoyed the opportunity to face her partner and hoped both would perform at their best.

At the Hangzhou Games, Lin won two gold medals in the women’s singles and mixed doubles, as well as a silver in the women’s doubles alongside Tian.
