ILAGAN, Isabela—The Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) has earmarked P59.8-million fund for three tourism infrastructure projects in Ilagan City.

This was made certain by TIEZA Chief Operating Officer Mark Lapid who visited Ilagan to sign a memorandum of agreement over the projects on October 13.

Lapid announced that his agency will financially support the P49.5 million for the Sta. Victoria Sanctuary and P13 million for the tourist facility in Abuan River Adventure Park.

Lapid said the funded projects, which were requested last year, will help boost tourism and culture of the community, aside from creating employment.

“The tourism facilities to be put up in these areas have been synchronized to generate jobs aside from tourism development,” he said.

“During this time, we really have to promote domestic tourism due to the Middle East war, and we see more importance in promoting our local tourism,” he added. /apl
