GTA 6 Could Disappoint Fans Expecting Online And PC Gameplay, Says Ludwig

Ludwig thinks GTA 6 could get a strange reception when it finally lands, even though it's one of the most anticipated games in years. On his November 5 livestream, the YouTube and Twitch streamer said players are expecting features that might not be there at launch. He pointed to no online gameplay, no PC support and no 60 FPS option. According to Ludwig, the first console release could leave some people underwhelmed, even if Rockstar delivers a strong single-player experience. He also set the new game against what GTA 5 offers today.
Ludwig says GTA 6 could lead to lower streamer viewership, with more people wanting to play the game themselves instead of watching others ???? He also says fans may be disappointed that it's a 30fps PS5 story game at launch. “What GTA 5 is now is probably cooler than what GTA 6 will be at launch…”

Ludwig believes GTA 6 players are expecting more than Rockstar might deliver at launch
His prediction mostly comes down to expectations around Rockstar's next release. He thinks players are getting ready for a much bigger package than the initial version might actually give them.
“I think GTA 6 is initially going to be considered, like, a bit of a disappointment because I don't think people are ready for the reality that it's just a story game on console,” Ludwig said during the livestream.
He then listed three things he believes players will want right away: PC availability, online gameplay and 60 FPS support.“They're not going to get all that. They're getting 30 FPS PS5 gameplay,” he added.
The frame-rate talk is already part of GTA 6 coverage. In August 2026, reports after a Rockstar North visit said the game was running at 30 FPS on consoles during development. Rockstar developer Rob Nelson reportedly said the team still had to figure out if a 60 FPS option would come at launch or later.
Ludwig explains why the current version of GTA 5 could offer more than GTA 6 initially
Ludwig later cleared up that he wasn't predicting a weak story or calling GTA 6 a bad game. His comparison was about how much content and how many technical options GTA 5 has after years of updates and community additions.
“I think the story will be great, and I'm not saying it's going to be bad,” he explained.
But he argued GTA 5, in its current form, could actually give players a more complete experience than its successor at launch. “What GTA 5 is now is probably cooler than what GTA 6 will be at launch,” Ludwig said.
His reasons were GTA 5's online mode, wide mod support, extra content and ability to run above 30 FPS.
Some X users disagreed with him. One said GTA has always had a story mode, while another suggested players might just finish the campaign and wait for online gameplay. One user also pointed out that GTA 5's current feature set took years to build.
So Ludwig's argument is about the launch package, not the quality of Rockstar's single-player campaign.
GTA 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. A PC release hasn't been announced alongside those console versions.
