Several fans of the soap commented on the actor's bold new look, with one user writing: "After all these years being a blonde Cait is now becoming a brunette just like Sydney [Martin] and Ali and also Pauline."
"Looks so beautiful on you Cait 😍🤎 can’t wait to see brunette Lauren on our screens!!" wrote another fan, while a third echoed this sentiment as they wrote: "Love the new hair cait it really suits you."
On the soap itself, it's been a difficult time for Lauren, who has seen her best friend Betsy Swain begin her recovery from a stroke. Despite this, Betsy has planned to get on with her life, and recently returned to work ahead of a college interview.

Elsewhere in Weatherfield, the most dramatic storyline saw Sarah Platt be acquitted following the murder of Theo Silverton, though Gary Windass wasn't so lucky as he was sentenced to eight months behind bars.
Speaking about his character's fate, Mikey North said: "It's obviously not Gary's first rodeo in prison - he's a seasoned professional at this rate! I think it's probably a lot harder for them on the outside than it is for Gary on the inside at times."
Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
