Thunderstorms and dusty weather across Egypt on Saturday, EMA warns

Translate

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) announced that Saturday’s weather will be slightly hot during the day across the northern regions, extending as far as Greater Cairo, and growing hotter in the southern parts of the country while turning cooler during the night and early morning hours.

Weather maps indicate a chance of light rain—with occasional thunder— across parts of central and southern Sinai and the Red Sea Governorate.

There is a 30 percent probability of moderate rainfall in some areas—specifically around Halayeb, Shalateen, Ras Banas, and the southern Eastern Desert—which may also intermittently affect parts of the Aswan Governorate.

There will also be an approximately 20 percent chance of light rain across scattered areas of the northern coast and Lower Egypt region.

This could potentially extend to parts of the Suez Canal cities and Greater Cairo, with a possibility of moderate rainfall occurring intermittently in some areas of Matrouh Governorate.

Satellite observations have detected wind activity, with speeds ranging from 30-40 km/h, affecting parts of Greater Cairo, the northeastern coasts, Lower Egypt, and South Sinai.

These winds may stir up sand and dust in areas including Halayeb, Shalateen, the southern part of the Eastern Desert, and the far south of Upper Egypt.

The authority advised citizens to take the necessary precautions against these expected weather conditions, and to stay updated by following the latest bulletins issued by the authority.
