KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 23 — The list of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) candidates for the Melaka State Election (PRN) is currently being finalised by the party’s top leadership.

PKR Wanita Chief Datuk Seri Fadhlina Sidek said the list has already been submitted for consideration and final decision.

“The decision will be made by PKR’s top leadership to determine our candidates. So, it is currently being finalised,” she said when met after appearing as a guest on Bernama TV’s talk show program Ruang Bicara titled “Budget 2027: Strengthening Education, Shaping the Future” at Wisma Bernama yesterday.

When asked whether the candidates to be featured would comprise of old faces or otherwise, Fadhlina stressed that the party’s priority is to ensure the selected candidates are people-oriented and ready to serve.

“Insya-Allah, what is important are those who are ready to serve the rakyat. Certainly, we want to deliver the best from our party for the people,” she said.

The Election Commission has set Nov 14 as polling day for the Melaka State Election, with nomination day on Oct 31 and early voting on Nov 10.

The Melaka State Election held in 2021 saw Barisan Nasional (BN) win 21 out of the 28 contested seats, successfully forming the state government, while Pakatan Harapan won five seats and Perikatan Nasional two seats. — Bernama
