MND goes all in on Mexico City: A perspective from our CEO

Mexico City is having a long-overdue and well-deserved moment in the spotlight. People from all over the world of all ages are discovering the city and everything it has to offer. Entire neighborhoods are being influenced and transformed by the influx of new foreign residents and tourists. Some locals lament the changes, others celebrate them. We had one of our local CDMX writers reflect on it here.

As of late, I now hear from several people a week who have just visited the city for the first time and were blown away by how awesome it is. I can’t help but smile. When I first visited the city over 30 years ago, it was love at first sight — the history, the energy, the people, the contrasts. I would always tell people that it was one of my very favorite cities in the world and have gushed about it in articles and podcasts:

The team at Mexico News Daily is excited to announce that, starting this week, we will be further increasing our coverage of Mexico City. In addition to our regular daily content that very frequently covers news happening in the city, we are now going to begin a weekly MND Local CDMX feature that will give readers even more detailed news and information.

The idea behind this new weekly feature article is to provide the next level of news and information about the city. Perhaps most importantly, we are being very thoughtful in who we are writing for and what should be included. The goal is to write it for a wide audience: those currently living in the city, those considering moving to the city, or others just interested in learning more and being better informed for planning future trips. We hope to inspire first-timers to come check the city out, and those who have been there to come back again soon!

It is NOT written to help you understand what to do in the next 24 hours. It is NOT meant to replace local event calendars and local social media pages. It IS written to help you learn more about the city and better plan your time there. We will give you insight into new openings to be aware of, important events to plan for and new trends shaping the city. We hope to introduce you to new people, new places and new things to check out — all in an effort to inspire you to spend more time discovering this wonderful city.
