One Game Away From 100 Caps: Tijanni Babangida Hail Super Eagles Winger

Former Nigeria international winger Tijanni Babangida has praised Moses Simon longevity in the senior national team of Nigeria as he closes in on making his 100th appearance for the team, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

The Paris FC winger is currently on 99 caps and if he gets to play in any of the two games in the upcoming AFCON qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau respectively, he will join a selected group of players who have played 100 games for the team.

Only the quartet of goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama, Ahmed Musa, Joseph Yobo and recently Alex Iwobi have reached the milestone of a 100 caps for Nigeria, Simon is in line to be the fifth player.

” He ( Simon) is a legend and a role model. When you consider the coaches that has come and go yet he stays tells you a lot. To play a 100 games for Nigeria is not a small thing and you can ask any ex international”, Babangida said.

” Simon didn’t just get to this milestone by sitting on the bench. He did so actively playing and impacting games. Look at his goal and assists in top games and tournaments then you’ll get the reason why I said he is much more than a legend’.
