Pahang Astro Awani journalist dies at 66

KUANTAN: Astro Awani senior journalist Mohd Zailani Md Atan, who was based in Pahang, died at his home here today.
Zailani, 66, died in his sleep about 5pm.
His wife, Suaibatul Aslmiah Abu Bakar, 52, said her husband had been unwell and had difficulty walking over the past few days.
"His condition improved slightly today, but he still appeared weak," she said.
She said her husband had high blood pressure and diabetes.
Zailani leaves behind a wife and four children.
He had been with the television news channel since 2007.
His remains were taken to the Saidina Ali bin Abi Talib Mosque in Bukit Sekilau for funeral prayers before he was laid to rest at the Setali Muslim Cemetery at 9pm.
Zailani's death came as a shock to many of his media colleagues, as he had appeared jovial and cheerful during a media dinner hosted by the Pahang Menteri Besar's Office on Oct 20.
