Lunch West Indies 213 for 6 (Chanderpaul 56, Campbell 54, Greaves 46, Chase 30*, Taijul 2-76) trail Bangladesh 272 (Shadman 105, Warrican 5-53) by 59 runs
Nayeem Hasan removed Justin Greaves in the last over before lunch to give Bangladesh the advantage against West Indies in the first session of the third day of the first Test in Dhaka. West Indies went to the break at 213 for 6, adrift by 59 runs.
Tagenarine Chanderpaul started the session and the day with a huge six over midwicket in the fourth over, off Taijul Islam, and in Taijul's next over, he reached his third Test fifty. But he lasted just a little while longer, edging Shoriful Islam to second slip where Najmul Hossain Shanto took a sharp catch.
It ended a 65-run fifth-wicket stand with Greaves, one that took 136 balls and revived West Indies from 97 for 4.
Roston Chase walked out and started off with a well-timed flick off Shoriful and then struck a powerful cover drive off Taijul in the next over to get into his stride.
After an interlude, Greaves struck Taijul for two fours, before Mominul Haque dropped Chase at short leg when the batter was on 27. The ball clipped the West Indies captain's inside edge and flew to Mominul, who was on the move and couldn't hold on.
At the stroke of lunch, Nayeem had Greaves lbw for 46, with the offbreak spinning back to pin the batter on the back foot.
On the second day, after Bangladesh finished on 272, West Indies lost three quick wickets after a decent start. John Campbell and Chanderpaul added 61 runs for the second wicket, which lifted them after Brandon King's early fall. Campbell struck the ball sweetly on his way to his sixth half-century before a catch from Shanto in the slips cut short his stay.
Taijul then struck twice in an over; Kavem Hodge was caught by Mominul at silly mid-off and Amir Jangoo holed out to square-leg.
