Muneeba is understood to have decided to skip the Games because of her mother’s illness, while the PCB made the decision to not name a replacement keeping in mind logistical challenges and time constraints, as the knockout competition will finish by September 22.
In Pakistan’s first game against Thailand, Feroza Gull kept wickets in her place as the side scraped through to the next round with a three-wicket win.
The Fatima Sana led-side will next face the winner of the Sri Lanka vs Malaysia game in the semifinal on Saturday, September 19.
