Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez left fans and fellow celebrities in awe on the first night of her “Finale” concert series, which featured her classic hits and a surprise reunion performance with her “Do Re Mi” co-stars Donna Cruz and Mikee Cojuangco.

Velasquez opened the show on Saturday, Oct. 17, with “Narito Ako,” followed by a performance of “You Are My Song,” which brought the veteran singer-actress to tears.

She continued the night with her songs including “You’ve Made Me Stronger,” “Kung Maibabalik Ko Lang,” “Pangarap Ko ang Ibigin Ka,” “Pangako,” “Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw,” before welcoming her husband, veteran singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid, on stage. The celebrity couple sang a duet of “Hanggang Ngayon.”

Velasquez then shared the stage with Cruz and Cojuangco, singing “I Can” and “A Little Love Goes a Long Way.”

“Thank you so much girls for always saying yes to me,” Velasquez said.

“Ever since we made that movie years ago, we have become really good friends,” she continued, referring to their 1996 film. “We kept in touch. We tried to find out what’s happening with each other. We may not see each other as often as we want to — but real friends are like that, we never forget.”

Also among the highlights of the event was Velasquez donning a white gown embellished with sparkling details spelling out the titles of her songs.
