Coronation Street confirms Christina's long-lost daughter in early ITVX episode

Coronation Street has revealed Christina Boyd's long-lost daughter in a tragic storyline twist.
Christina opens up to her partner George Shuttleworth in tonight's episode after receiving a painful reminder of her past.

With Christina now working as assistant funeral director at the undertakers, George wastes no time showing her the ropes on the computer system.
As Tim Metcalfe and Lucy Parkinson have been in to discuss plaque options for Lucy's late mum Rachel, some paperwork needs to be processed.
While carrying out her new duties, Christina is immediately struck to read the name Rachel Parkinson and asks George for more details. She's quietly horrified when George explains that Rachel was Lucy's mother, who recently died.
Later, after a struggling Christina drowns her sorrows at the Rovers, George becomes concerned that something seems to be troubling her.
Back at home, Christina shows George a gold locket with a picture of a baby girl – and confirms that it's not Daisy, the daughter we already know about!
"That's Rachel," a tearful Christina explains. "That's Lucy's mummy. It's Rachel, whose death certificate I looked at before. She's my daughter."
The shocking revelation means Christina has a granddaughter on the cobbles, as Lucy is continuing to live with Tim and Sally. Will she disclose her identity to the dangerous teen or keep a distance? And could tensions rise between Christina and the Metcalfes?
Amy Robbins, who plays Christina, had previously teased that we'd find out more details about her character's past this year.
Speaking exclusively to us last month, she explained: "I've loved delving into Christina's past, to explain why she is the nutter that she is! Everyone has got a reason to be annoying and it's good to see that she's got a heart after all.
"I think for the rest of the year, coming up for Christina you're going to see things that are quite revelatory. It'll explain why she's been the naughty girl that she has been, why she's got a spending addiction, and why she's been such a terrible mother up until this point!
"You'll get to understand what it is that's caused it all – and she's not such a bad girl after all. She's been through a lot."
Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
