Protesters gather outside the ICC on former President Duterte's third status conference

During the third status conference of the ICC Trial Chamber before the trial of former President Rodrigo Duterte, several groups of Filipino workers and residents in the Netherlands held a protest.

They call on the Dutch and even the ICC to continue detaining Duterte, especially since the trial of the former President, who they say considered himself "untouchable," is an inspiration to the entire world.

Other groups, on the other hand, used the opportunity to call for the conviction of Vice President Sara Duterte.

On the side of the former President's supporters, only a small number of people came to the ICC today for the status conference.

According to a supporter, they had no activities planned today, but he and a few others were able to enter the ICC to watch the hearing.

A few minutes before the scheduled status conference of the International Criminal Court (ICC) Trial Chamber III on the crimes against humanity case of former President Rodrigo Duterte, there is still no word whether he will be present during the proceeding.

The ICC Registry has not yet made public any documents regarding the possible waiver of the defense, as well as the opposition to it by the prosecution and the lawyers of the drug war victims.

GMA News is currently seeking information from the ICC Public Affairs Unit regarding Duterte's attendance at the status conference, but to date, the office has not yet responded.
