Emmerdale rules out three key characters from wedding week deaths

Emmerdale has ruled out three key characters from wedding-week deaths, following fan speculation about possible casualties this week.

With Joe Tate and Dawn Fletcher's explosive wedding week under way, the couple are preparing to tie the knot while Dawn secretly plots her escape with her ex Billy and the kids.

We know that tragedy is going to strike, but Emmerdale producer Laura Shaw has seemingly ruled out the deaths of some key characters while teasing major plots for 2027.

Speaking to The Mirror, Shaw discussed the feud between Joe and his uncle Caleb Miligan, who is helping Dawn escape to ruin Joe's life after Joe stole his kidney.

The producer said the feud plot would continue into next year, seemingly confirming that both Joe and Caleb make it out of the wedding stunt week alive, though we will have to wait and see.

Shaw said: "I mean, they're still talking about the kidney! Let it go, let it go now. Obviously, as we can see in the run-up to the wedding, that feud becomes bigger and bigger.

"And certainly, what I can say is off the back of the wedding, there's going to be... that chasm is going to open even wider between those two. It will be one of our kind of big stories, certainly through the rest of this year and into next year."

Teasing more exciting storylines for the feuding families this autumn, Shaw said: "We've got some quite dark, gothic storylines coming up. There's some comedy as well, I think it's a whole mix – that's what soap is about, isn't it?

"Drama, and gothic stuff at Home Farm. That feels like the right kind of precinct for those sort of stories."

Also not on this week's death list is Vinny, who has been mentioned in next week's spoilers. This is notable because he's reportedly leaving, so fans may have expected him to die this week.
