IND vs WI: Shubman Gill slams 10th ODI century, joins MS Dhoni in elite list

NEW DELHI: Shubman Gill added another milestone to his ODI career on Sunday as the India captain hit his 10th century in the format. Gill reached the three-figure mark against the West Indies in Thiruvananthapuram.Gill completed his century with a boundary off Jayden Seales. He drove the full delivery through the gap on the off side and raised his bat after reaching the landmark.He then removed his helmet and bowed to the crowd as the fans stood up to applaud the Indian skipper.

Gill joins Dhoni

With his 10th ODI century, Gill has moved alongside MS Dhoni on the list of Indian batters with the most hundreds in the format.Gill has reached his 10 centuries in just 68 ODIs and 67 innings.

Gill also has 20 ODI fifties to go with his 10 centuries.Among Indian batters, Virat Kohli leads the ODI century list with 54 hundreds, while Sachin Tendulkar has 49. Rohit Sharma is next with 34.

Gill makes the most of his second chance

Gill's century came after he was dropped early in his innings. Keemo Paul put down a catch when Gill was on 11.The West Indies paid a heavy price for that missed chance as Gill went on to score his 10th ODI hundred.Another strong year for GillThe century was Gill's latest big score in ODIs in 2026. Before this innings, his scores in the format this year were 56, 56, 23, 84 not out, 154, 80 not out, 31 and 77.He has now added another century to that list.
