Bell AI data centre in Sask. expanding, set to bring in over $50B in investment
Bell is quadrupling a previously announced data centre project in Saskatchewan that is expected to bring in more than $50 billion in capital investment.
The Saskatchewan government says the project is one of the largest private sector investments in the province’s history.
The expansion will boost the capacity of the data centre to 1.2 gigawatts.
Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe made the announcement today alongside Prime Minister Mark Carney at an event in Toronto also attended by former prime ministers Jean Chrétien and Stephen Harper.

Moe says the project will strengthen Canadian data sovereignty because it will keep Canadian data in the country.
The announcement is part of Canada’s first-ever investment summit, which kicked off in Toronto on Monday.
