London weather: 10 days of glorious sunshine on the horizon as September temperatures rise

Translate

WEST END FINAL

London is set for one final spell of warm sunshine in 2026, with forecasters predicting ten straight days of glorious weather in the capital starting this weekend.

According to BBC Weather, the city will see warm conditions every day between Sunday, September 20 and Tuesday, September 29 - with temperatures of 22C and higher each day.

The conditions will be created by a high-pressure ridge centred over the South, bringing consistent heat to the capital after a more wet period in recent weeks.

Before the weekend’s warm weather, the remainder of this week will continue to bring a mix of sun and showers.

Thursday is set to see early cloud and rain, before it turns dry with sunny spells and just a few patches of cloud.

Friday looks to see sunshine to start, before clouds move in from the west, possibly yielding a few spots of rain in places.

Saturday is forecast to stay mostly cloudy and breezy, with a chance of spells of rain and drizzle moving in from the west at times.

This will be followed by ten straight days of sunshine, with the Met Office also forecasting plenty of dry and increasingly warm and perhaps rather humid weather.

According to the Met Office, the outlook for London towards the end of September is “increasingly warm and perhaps humid”, with the bulk of the rain confined to the northwest of the UK.

It says changeable conditions at the start of October “may become more frequent”, however: “Temperatures are likely to remain above normal overall.”
