Before Reacher Season 5, Neagley Is Officially Coming Back In 6 Months

After Reacher season 4, even the Neagley spin-off has performed incredibly well on Prime Video with its opening installment. Like all previous Reacher seasons, Neagley season 1, too, has earned positive reviews from viewers and critics and even boasts a Rotten Tomatoes score of 94%. The continued success of the franchise almost guarantees it is not ending anytime soon.

Reacher season 5's production is also in full swing, suggesting that it could even premiere before the end of 2027. Interestingly, though, before Reacher season 5 lands on Prime Video, we will get to see another Reacher installment with Frances Neagley as the lead. Given how Neagley just landed on Prime Video, it will be a while before the streaming service renews it for another season.

However, while fans of the franchise await Neagley's return to the small-screen, they must check out Lee Child's upcoming book, Zero Margin. It is the first book in the Reacher franchise to focus solely on Neagley. Until now, Reacher was the central lead in all the books from the Lee Child universe. Zero Margin, however, follows the show's lead and marks the beginning of a whole new era for the franchise.

Lee Child’s First Neagley Book Releases In 2027

The Reacher franchise has only been growing from strength to strength in recent years. From the looks of it, its reign in the action thriller genre will continue with Lee Child's upcoming novel, Zero Margin, which will be the first installment in the book series to feature Neagley as the lead.

Co-written by Lee Child and Yasmin Angoe, the book is the perfect follow-up to Neagley season 1, unfolding another crime-solving endeavor for the character.

In the new book, the story will begin with Neagley receiving an encrypted cry for help from her former commanding officer, Madeline Baker, who is now a wealthy CEO. Her message to Neagley will reveal that her son has been abducted by a shadow syndicate that operates dark web auctions. As always, Neagley will agree to help a friend in need and race against time to save the young boy.

As its story suggests, the upcoming Neagley book already looks incredibly promising. The fact that Lee Child himself has co-written almost guarantees that it will have all the ingredients that have made the franchise so successful so far. If all goes well for the book, it could even be picked up by Prime Video for an adaptation.

Speaking of which, it is hard not to wonder whether Prime Video's Neagley will adapt the new Lee Child novel in its next potential season.

Will Neagley Season 2 Adapt Lee Child’s New Book In Season 2?

Unlike all previous installments in Prime Video's Reacher franchise, Neagley season 1 does not adapt any existing books. Instead, it walks through a completely original storyline and carefully adds more depth to Neagley's backstory and lore without rewriting too many aspects of Lee Child's Jack Reacher books.

However, since Lee Child is now finally releasing his own Neagley spin-off books, the show's future seasons could draw from his work as well.

Prime Video has not officially announced Neagley's renewal. The show's high acclaim and performance during the early days of its release suggest that it will eventually get the chance to return. For now, though, only Reacher season 5 is set to continue the Prime Video series.

Hopefully, like Reacher, Neagley, too, will get the long-term treatment on Prime Video and even later adapt some of Lee Child and Yamin Angoe's new spin-off books.
