Euromatch NPFL: Rangers Share Spoils With Barau FC, Rivers United Maintain Unbeaten Start
Defending champions Rangers maintained their position at the top of the Nigeria Premier Football League ,NPFL, table on Sunday despite playing out a 2-2 against Barau FC.
Ifeanyi Okechukwu put Rangers ahead seven minutes before half-time, but Barau FC fought back in the second half, with Joseph Atule and Aliyu Sugau converting penalties to give the hosts the lead.
However, Chidiebere Nwobodo rescued a point for the visitors with a stoppage-time equaliser.
Meanwhile, Rivers United preserved their unbeaten start to the new season after playing out a goalless draw against Abia Warriors.
In Lafia, Nasarawa United secured a comfortable 2-0 victory over Doma United.
Sunday Dapman and Jofrank Istifanus scored to seal all three points for the home side.

At the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Sporting Lagos edged Bendel Insurance 2-1 in an entertaining encounter.
Victor Samuel opened the scoring for Sporting Lagos in the 14th minute, but Kayode Oke restored parity for Bendel Insurance four minutes later.
Gafar Olaniyan, however, struck in the 22nd minute to hand Sporting Lagos the victory.
Elsewhere, Plateau United ended Kano Pillars’ unbeaten run in emphatic fashion, recording a 4-0 victory at the New Jos Stadium.
Paul Samson, Ekundayo Ojo, Samuel Ayanrinde and Nenrot Silas were all on target as Plateau United secured a convincing win over the Sai Masu Gida.
