As a fan of The Legend of Zelda as a series, it really does feel like we're sailing from win to resounding win right now, as the franchise celebrates 40 years since it first debuted onto home consoles. As part of that, we've already enjoyed a raft of announcements about upcoming releases designed to mark the occasion, and they're still coming all the time.

The Ocarina of Time Remake is bound to draw most of the attention from fans when it releases in November, but there's plenty more to keep an eye out for moving forward. Now, the latest release has been confirmed by all the relevant parties, and it could easily end up being one of the best ones yet.

As first reported by GameRant, Nintendo has officially revealed new box art for The Legend of Zelda: Master Collection, a new trading card collection being made in partnership with Italian company Panini, who are most well known for their forays into the world of football stickers.

The set is designed to feature artwork from across The Legend of Zelda's broad and vast history, with almost every game from that time included in some capacity. The full list of games featured as artwork in this latest effort is as follows:

  • The Legend of Zelda
  • The Adventures of Link
  • A Link to the Past
  • Link's Awakening
  • Ocarina of Time
  • Majora's Mask
  • Oracle of Seasons
  • Oracle of Ages
  • Four Swords
  • The Wind Waker
  • Four Swords Adventures
  • The Minish Cap
  • Twilight Princess
  • Phantom Hourglass
  • Spirit Tracks
  • Skyward Sword
  • A Link Between Worlds
  • Tri Force Heroes
  • Breath of the Wild
  • Tears of the Kingdom
  • Echoes of Wisdom

The idea behind the set is that it's meant to be a celebration of The Legend of Zelda as a whole, and drawing in as many parts of that extensive history as possible is a great way to do so. That means any packs you open could feature everything from those early pixelated designs of the first few games, all the way up to the Breath of the Wild era.

The only issue right now is that Nintendo is yet to reveal a lot of details about the final set, specifically how many cards there will be to collect, when it's going to drop, or how much individual products will cost. We can expect those to come soon, though, given that it's essentially a part of the 40th anniversary celebrations.

Other than that, we also have the release of the Zelda edition of the Nintendo Switch 2 to look forward to, as well as the major feature film adaptation in 2027. We should also get details on what exactly is set to come next relatively soon as well, though they may wait until things have calmed down a little to announce anything.
