Tom Hardy and Joanne Froggatt tease "the wheels are coming off for everyone" in MobLand season 2

Just weeks after Guy Ritchie's crime drama The Gentlemen returned for its second season, another show on which he is a director and executive producer, MobLand is almost back.
The new season of MobLand will see the Harrigan crime family struggling to show a unified front as rising rivals threaten their fractured criminal empire, while fixer Harry Da Souza must walk a dangerous tightrope when tensions within the family intensify.
He also continues to have a tense relationship with his wife Jan, as played by Joanne Froggatt. At the end of season 2, during a heated argument, she accidentally stabbed him.
Now, Hardy and Froggatt have spoken exclusively with Radio Times about MobLand season 2, and when asked how it is different to season 1, Hardy said: "Season 1 was an introduction to the characters, so we were all getting to know them ourselves and feel them out.
"And we moved quite fast in that aspect, that we got to know them pretty well in the first season and enjoy playing them and growing them. Season 2, we already knew who they were to a degree, and now, as it progressed, we get to play infinitely a lot more with them, and more characters are focused in on, and it develops. So, I think just the logical development of continuing."

Hardy then noted that, after filming two seasons, he and Froggatt have already spent 20 hours with their characters, noting this is "a lot more than a two-hour film, isn't it?".
Froggatt added: "Season 2 definitely ups the ante on season one, even if that seems impossible. I think the wheels are coming off for everybody. For all the characters, everyone's fractured and everyone’s going through their separate dramas."
"Yeah, we follow a lot more characters," Hardy said. "Now we've introduced them, there's more airtime for every individual, so it's growing. And it's more dynamic as well, there’s more going on."

Thankfully, we already know that we'll be going beyond 20 hours with these characters, as a third season of MobLand has been officially confirmed, with Hardy, Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren returning.
Alongside that trio and Froggatt, season 3 stars Paddy Considine, Lara Pulver, Anson Boon, Mandeep Dhillon, Jasmine Jobson, Teddie Allen, Emmett J. Scanlan, Johnny Flynn, Ophelia Lovibond, Janet McTeer and Toby Jones.
