Batangas 2nd District Representative Gerville Luistro said that she will look into the details of the reported P1.3 billion budget insertion made to her district in the House-approved 2027 budget.
In a "24 Oras" report on Wednesday, the People’s Budget Coalition said that Luistro’s district allegedly received one of the highest budgets for Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) projects.
“I will be looking into that …What I can say is, I was not able to participate in the budget process and that is because of the impeachment trial and I am very interested to know the details about that,” Luistro said in an interview on DZBB.
Luistro is the lead House prosecutor in the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte.
However, she said that the DPWH engineering office in her district could not see the said insertions.
Luistro said that based on her understanding, whatever was written on the National Expenditure Program prepared by the Department of Budget and Management was the same as the one passed in the House General Appropriations Bill.
The Batangas lawmaker said she will double-check the said insertions. —LDF, GMA News
