House of the Dragon season 3 may have ended on a major cliffhanger and raised a lot of eyebrows among longtime A Song of Ice and Fire fans, introducing several controversial changes to George R.R. Martin's Fire & Blood source material, but there's no question that fans are eager for what comes next in the fourth and final season.

Season 3 nevertheless delivered some of the spectacle audiences had been waiting years to see. The Battle of the Gullet opened the season with devastating dragon sequences and Jace's tragic end, while Rhaenyra finally took King’s Landing. The season hit a series high point with Aegon and Sunfyre's emotional reunion, and also introduced the Winter Wolves as a genuine force to be reckoned with, culminating in Roddy the Ruin and Daemon’s assault on Tumbleton in an action-heavy finale.

That said, the circumstances surrounding Jace’s death and the Fall of King’s Landing were substantially reworked from the original story, and the show’s version of Tumbleton changed some questionable aspects from Fire & Blood that raised great debate among viewers and readers alike. Further, Rhaenyra’s messianic Prince That Was Promised prophecy speech and her killing of the High Septon, not to mention Helaena’s tragic death, all proved especially controverisal, leaving fans wondering how season 4 is going to bring all those threads together.

Fortunately, we won't have to wait until season 4's release to get a House of the Dragon fix, as the HBO hit series is set to make a surprise return on September 9 in a brand-new Game of Thrones: Legends quest event.

The House of the Dragon Quest Event is a brand-new event heading to Game of Thrones: Legends this month on Thursday, September 9, at 4AM ET, runing until to Monday, September 14, at 2AM ET. The event will be accompanied by the House of the Dragon Summon which will be available throughout, beginning slightly before and ending after the event from Thursday, September 9, at 1AM ET to Monday, September 14, at 2PM ET.

Summons are limited-time opportunities for players to claim tokens to unlock new champions, which in this case features tokens for Legendary Champions Daario Naharis, Rhaenyra Targaryen, Caraxes, and Olenna Tyrell. It marks just one of several recurring events for September in Legends, including Battle of the Bastards (which is live now), Battle of Blackwater Bay starting on September 17, and Assault on Rook's Rest on September 24.
