The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will resume voter registration on November 10 ahead of the 2028 national and local elections, Chairperson George Garcia said on Wednesday.
Garcia said the registration period would run until July 30, 2027.
“Sa mga kababayan natin na gustong magparehistro dahil hindi sila rehistrado, magpa-revive ng registration, magpa-transfer ng kanilang registration, o kaya naman magpa-reactivate ng kanilang registration, o magpabago sa kahit anong datos doon, gawin nyo po 'yan mula November 10 at ito po ay tatagal hanggang sa next year, as much as possible July 30,” Garcia told reporters.
(Those who wish to register as voters, reactivate or transfer their registration, or update any information in their records may do so starting November 10. The registration period is expected to last until July 30 next year.)
The poll body earlier said around 74 million Filipinos are expected to be eligible to vote in the May 2028 national and local elections.
Comelec also projected that an additional one million voters would be eligible to vote in the November 2028 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE). — Vince Angelo Ferreras/VBL, GMA News
