Miss Supranational 2026 Katrina Llegado’s victory celebration pushed to Sept. 19

After inclement weather derailed the scheduled celebration of Katrina Llegado’s Miss Supranational victory twice, the reigning queen is set to have two victory parades on Saturday, Sept. 19.

The first leg of the festivities will be her homecoming parade in Taguig City. It will kick off at the Bagumbayan Hall at 9 a.m., and will end at Ayala Malls Arca South, where a homecoming celebration is scheduled at 10 a.m.

Llegado is expected to greet her fellow Taguigenos as her parade traverses the streets in Bagumbayan, Lower Bicutan, New Lower Bicutan, Hagonoy, Central Signal, South Signal and, finally, at Arca South.

After her homecoming in Taguig, the beauty queen will then proceed to Pasay City for her victory parade at the Mall of Asia complex, scheduled to start at 3 p.m.

Llegado became the second Filipino woman to be crowned Miss Supranational by emerging victorious from a field of 67 delegates at the competition held in Nowy Sacz, Poland, on July 31 (Aug. 1 in Manila).

She claimed the crown 13 years since Binibining Pilipinas Mutya Johanna Datul scored the Philippines’ first-ever Miss Supranational victory at the pageant’s fifth edition held in Belarus in 2013.

Llegado returned to the country in August, and was supposed to have her first victory parade at the Mall of Asia complex on Aug. 29, and her homecoming parade in Taguig City on Sept. 2.

But unfavorable weather conditions prompted organizers to postpone the celebration, and moved both parades to Sept. 5, with the Pasay leg scheduled at 2 p.m., and the Taguig leg set at 4 p.m. But inclement weather again prevented the holding of festivities.

Llegado also welcomed her Mister Supranational counterpart Pedro Cordero to the Philippines for the first phase of her victory celebrations in Manila in the last week of August. The two international titlholders were joined by Miss Supranational executives, headed by owner Gerhard von Lipinski.

She waited more than a year since snagging her national title before she could see action on the international stage. Llegado was crowned The Miss Philippines-Supranational after finishing in the Top 6 of the 2025 Miss Universe Philippines pageant in May last year.

But her journey to Poland did not only start in May 2025. Llegado has had a long and colorful “career” in pageantry. She joined the 2019 Miss World Philippines pageant, where she was crowned Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas.

She was proclaimed quinta finalista (fifth runner-up) at the 2019 Reina Hispanoamericana pageant held in Bolivia in February 2020, her first international pageant.

Llegado returned to the national stage via the 2022 Miss Universe pageant, a competition that saw formidable pageant veterans competing in the same year.

At the 2022 national pageant, she was reunited with 2019 Miss World Philippines Michelle Dee, and shared the stage with 2018 Miss Philippines Earth Celeste Cortesi and 2018 Mutya ng Pilipinas Pauline Amelinkx.

Cortesi copped the main title, while Dee and Amelinckx took home the “Tourism” and “Charity” titles, respectively. Llegado was proclaimed second runner-up, with national pageant rookie Annabelle McDonnell earning a first runner-up spot.

Seven years since she first carried her home city on the national pageant stage, Llegado returns to Taguig City with pride as an international titleholder, now wearing the Miss Supranational crown that she had long prayed for. /ra
