Police have arrested a woman believed to be the fiancée of the main suspect who allegedly posed as an aide-de-camp to the Raja Muda of Selangor in deals involving the purchase of houses and vehicles.

Selangor police chief Shazeli Kahar said the woman, in her 30s, was arrested and remanded for three days from Oct 20, Utusan Malaysia reported.

“We are seeking an extension of her remand as investigations are ongoing,” he said.

The woman is believed to be self-employed and runs a salon.

Shazeli said 19 investigation papers had been opened nationwide, including nine in Selangor.

“We are working to track down the main suspect, identified as Al Zulfadly Alias. We are also looking for several individuals believed to have assisted him,” he said.

Shazeli said the suspect, who is in his 40s, carried out scams that caused losses of up to RM700,000 over the last two years.

Police are investigating the case under Section 420 of the Penal Code for cheating and dishonestly inducing the delivery of property.

Shazeli said on Monday that police received a report from the Selangor palace over the misuse of photographs of the Raja Muda of Selangor by a Threads user known as “dwan_hamid”.
