Coronation Street's Bethany Platt makes risky Jodie move in early ITVX episode

Coronation Street's Bethany Platt makes a very risky move tonight as she throws Jodie Ramsey under the bus to protect her own secrets.

As Bethany's mum Sarah searches for answers about who Kit Green has been hooking up with recently, Bethany decides to throw a red herring into the mix by mentioning his short-lived flirtation with Jodie!

The ITV soap recently revealed that Bethany is expecting Kit's baby following a one-night stand.

Bethany has told Sarah about her pregnancy, but has understandably kept very quiet about the true identity of the father.

In Wednesday's episode, Sarah realises that she's not ready to stop fighting for Kit and regrets ending their relationship when she was in prison.

When Sarah tries to tempt Kit into reunion talks, he dismisses her and reveals that he slept with someone else while she was locked up.

A shocked Sarah soon puts Bethany in a very awkward spot as she demands intel on who Kit's mystery woman is.

Unsure what to say, Bethany blurts out that Kit went on a date with Jodie.

Since Jodie knows that Bethany and Kit slept together, could this be setting up huge trouble when she eventually returns to the cobbles? We can't imagine Jodie keeping quiet for too long if Sarah confronts her…

Lucy Fallon, who plays Bethany, recently told us: "[Bethany feels] really, really, really guilty. Bethany and Sarah have a really good relationship. Bethany has been such a support to her – she's basically been a mum to Harry while Sarah's been in prison.

"They're almost like best friends because they're not so far apart in age. So she's not feeling great about it. I think it's going to eat away at her until one day she can't take it anymore."

Asked whether Bethany will come clean, she replied: "No, I think right now it's deny, deny, deny. Coming clean is not an option, especially if she wants to keep a relationship with her mum, because her mum would have the right to never speak to either of them again.

"I mean, the whole family would, it's not even just Sarah! So she's stuck in an impossible position right now."
