Gulveer completes medal hat-trick at Asian Games; secures bronze in 5,000m

Gulveer Singh keeps running into medals. Well, he really does. The Indian athlete added a third medal to his tally at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, winning bronze in the men's 5000m on Tuesday.The Indian long-distance runner had earlier won silver medals in the men's 1500m and 10,000m events.

With his latest bronze in 5,000m, Gulveer now has three medals from three athletics events at the ongoing Asian Games. Gulveer became only second Indian track and field athlete to win three medals in single Asian Games edition.Gulveer clocked 13:32.75 to secure the third place. While Bahrain's Birhanu Balew clinched the gold medal with 13:30.79, Japan's Tomonori Yamaguchi won the silver with 13:31.43.
