Man City manager Enzo Maresca has highlighted the importance of Rodri to Manchester City, insisting that the Spanish midfielder is a player any team in the world would miss.

Speaking about City’s situation, Maresca pointed to Rodri’s extraordinary individual achievements, saying: “Well… Rodri is a player that just won the World Cup, Ballon d’Or — a top player that all teams would need“ as reported by Fabrizio Romano on X on Sunday.

However, Maresca was keen to stress that City’s performances should not simply be attributed to the absence of their midfield superstar.

“It’s not about if we miss Rodri or not,” he said.
