Spider-Man's future on TV looks robust despite the Spider-Noir cancellation.
The news that Spider-Noir will end after only one season has continued to dominate headlines for a few reasons. Part of that is because the MGM+ and Prime Video drama features a veteran bankable star in Nicolas Cage. But also because the show's debut outing was generally well-received by audiences and critics, even winning in five categories at the Creative Arts Emmys mere days after getting cancelled.
But that may not be the end in terms of live-action Spider-Man series, as a new report from The Ankler's Lesley Goldberg reveals that Sony Pictures Television president Katherine Pope and Prime Video are considering four different live-action scripts that are in the overall Spider-Man universe, intending to pick up at least one or two of those scripts. Plot and character details about those scripts are not shared.
However, the report reveals the writers behind those four projects. They include American Born Chinese writer Kelvin Yu, in addition to Emmy-nominated Better Call Saul and Pluribus writer Alison Tatlock of Pluribus, Ben Nedivi & Matt Wolpert, who are the co-creators of Four All Mankind, and MCU scribe Megan McDonnell.
