Disabled woman found stabbed to death in Kuala Kangsar: Father, son remanded

KUALA KANGSAR: A father and his 15-year-old son have been remanded over the death of a 49-year-old disabled woman who was found with stab wounds at Kampung Cheh Hilir, Kati, here yesterday.

Magistrate Azlin Zeti Zainal Abidin allowed the remand application against the two suspects, aged 15 and 44, from today.

The teenager was remanded for two days until tomorrow, while his father, who is also the victim's husband, was remanded for seven days until Wednesday.

The remand was sought to facilitate investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

The 44-year-old suspect, escorted by police, arrived at the Kuala Kangsar magistrate's court at 8.33am, followed by his son about 20 minutes later.

Both were seen leaving the court in a police vehicle at 9.45am.

Kuala Kangsar district police chief Assistant Commissioner Heisham Harun said yesterday that two family members of the victim were detained following her death.

He said preliminary investigations found that the incident stemmed from a misunderstanding between the victim and the suspects.

"The victim was found covered in blood with injuries believed to have been caused by a knife puncture to her calf.

"Bloodstains were also found dripping through gaps in the wooden floor of the house onto the ground below," he said.
