‘The Gentlemen’ Star Chanel Cresswell Boards Netflix’s ‘The Lords’ Day’

EXCLUSIVE: Chanel Cresswell, star of This is England and The Gentlemen, has boarded Netflix‘s upcoming series The Lords’ Day.

The BAFTA-winning star will play an as-yet-unrevealed role in the high-stakes political thriller starring Damson Idris in the lead role.

Cresswell plays Freddy’s wife Tammy in fellow Netflix UK series The Gentlemen and has a wealth of other big credits to her name.

She won a BAFTA for he performance in Shane Meadows and Jack Thorne’s This is England ’90 and appeared in all three of those hit Channel 4 mini-series’. Other shows include Vardy v Rooney: A Courtroom Drama, in which she played Coleen Rooney, Sherwood, and Power: The Downfall of Huw Edwards.

Starring Harry Lawtey, Arsema Thomas, Sophie Willan, Gemma Whelan and Timothy Spall alongside Idris (Snowfall), the adaptation of the Michael Dobbs book from Doctor Who make Bad Wolf follows Harry Jones, a British secret service agent at the center of a crisis at the heart of British politics. As with Cresswell’s, the other roles are being kept hush hush for now.

The Lords’ Day logline reads: “On the State Opening of Parliament, British spy Harry Jones (Idris) finds himself inside the iconic building amidst a lockdown. As the siege escalates, loyalties are tested and selfless sacrifices are made, leading to a desperate fight for survival where not everyone will emerge alive. Can Harry use his skills and training to be the country’s saviour?”
