[UPDATED] Kiandee, Takiyuddin among 4 MPs appointed to Parliamentary Service Council

KUALA LUMPUR: Four MPs have been appointed to the Parliamentary Service Council after the Dewan Rakyat approved a motion by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today.
They are Ramkarpal Singh (PH-Bukit Gelugor), Datuk Seri Hasni Mohammad (BN-Simpang Renggam), Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee (PN-Beluran) and Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan (PN-Kota Baru).
Anwar said the Selection Committee, which met on Oct 13, had nominated the four under Section 3(2)(f) of the Parliamentary Service Act 2025, which provides for two government and two opposition MPs to sit on the council.
"The four Dewan Rakyat members proposed by the Selection Committee as listed above shall be accepted and agreed to," he said when tabling the motion.
Ramkarpal and Hasni will represent the government, while Kiandee and Takiyuddin will represent the opposition.
The motion was passed without debate after the Speaker said both sides had agreed to the nominees.
The Parliamentary Service Act 2025 and related amendments to the Federal Constitution came into force on Oct 1, strengthening Parliament's institutional autonomy.
