All Creatures Great and Small season 7: Release date and latest news

All Creatures Great and Small returns this week for its seventh season – and as ever, there are plenty of comings and goings to keep you entertained across its six shiny new episodes.
While the war is firmly behind them and Skeldale House full once more, there are still challenges ahead.
James and Siegfried must contend with the arrival of new vet, Granville Bennett, while Helen is forced to have a frank conversation with her dad Richard about the future of the farm.
"We need to start saying goodbye to the old way of life and starting a new one."
Elsewhere, Mrs Hall must adjust to Siegfried and Dorothy's deepening relationship, while Tristan's relationship with Charlotte is threatened by the prospect of her potentially leaving.

All Creatures Great and Small season 7 cast: New and returning faces

As ever, the following will all be back:
- Nicholas Ralph as James Herriot
- Rachel Shenton as Helen Herriot
- Callum Woodhouse as Tristan Farnon
- Samuel West as Siegfried Farnon
- Anna Madeley as Mrs Hall
Also reprising their roles are:
- Maimie McCoy as Dorothy
- Gaia Wise as Charlotte Beauvoir
- Patricia Hodge as Mrs Pumphrey (alongside her cherished Pekingese Tricki)
- Tony Pitts as Richard Alderson
- Imogen Clawson as Jenny Alderson
- Mollie Winnard as Maggie
Caolan McCarthy (Belfast) has also joined the cast as rival vet Granville Bennett.
They will all be joined by numerous other guest stars across the six episodes.
All Creatures Great and Small season 7 plot: What will happen?

Season 7 picks up in 1946, with World War II firmly in the rear-view mirror and Skeldale House "once again full, and livelier than ever, as familiar faces reunite under one roof and look ahead to a hopeful new chapter", according to the official series description.
It continues: "James is excited about new developments in veterinary medicine, but a new vet in the area threatens the status quo.
"The world at large may be changing, but inside this slice of Yorkshire, the Dales will always offer the same perfect escapism. Packed with warmth, humour and community spirit, the series brings more heartwarming tales of people and animals alike."
