The forward was drafted in as a late replacment for newly signed Al Qadsiah winger Sani Suleiman who is presently out injured, and won’t be available for the October 6th game in Moscow.
Iheanacho joined the Danish side in the summer from Portuguese outfit Mafra, and hasn’t looked out of place in his new surroundings with five goals in 13 games across all competitions this season.
Chelle is using the friendly game against Russia to try out players he intends to build his U23 team around, ahead of their first game in the U23 AFCON qualifiers in November.
They will be joined in the team by a host of senior players of the Super Eagles, who will prosecute the AFCON qualifiers games against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau on the 25th and 29th of September respectively.
