She’s finally watching Friends — what took her so long? More than a year after her stellar debut Who’s the Clown, Audrey Hobert has released a video for “Phoebe.”

The video features the singer doing some self-exploration, tossing a memoir manuscript into the fire (fittingly titled The Story of My Life), drinking coffee in front of a tombstone (it reads “Hopes n Dreams”), and fishing (she scores a hundred dollar bill). It’s all normal Hobert stuff, so it’s no surprise she directed it herself, as she does with all of her videos.

Hobert recently celebrated the one-year anniversary of Who’s the Clown with a special vinyl edition. “Phoebe” follows the videos for “Silver Jubilee,” “Sex and the City,” “Bowling Alley,” “Thirst Trap,” “Wet Hair,” and of course “Sue Me,” her sleeper hit that recently debuted on the Billboard Hot 100. She’s currently on tour, and will open for Charli XCX early next year.

“I remember having the active thought very early on that there are no rules,” Hobert told Rolling Stone last year. “I have such an innate knowledge of pop music because I’ve been studying it without realizing it all my life.”

She also spoke about her whimsical October 2025 appearance on The Tonight Show and the mixed reactions it drew. “I have noticed that some people think I’m doing a shtick or a character,” she said. “That was me giving it my all. I was like, ‘I don’t know if I’ll ever do that again. You never know what’s going to happen in this life. So if this is my shot, I’m just going to go up there and be naked… but also in jeans.’ Naked in jeans. I love that. Yeah, naked in jeans.”
