Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs lock horns in the first Soweto Derby of the 2026/27 season on Saturday 31 October. Kick-off is set for 15:30 at the FNB Stadium.

The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) has confirmed the match will be live on SABC 1.

ORLANDO PIRATES FAVOURITES TO BEAT KAIZER CHIEFS

It might make for uncomfortable reading for Amakhosi fans but form suggests the Buccaneers are the favourites to win the game. But Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou was also quick to highlight that being favourites does not win you will win the game.

Pirates have seven wins and one draw in eight games in the Betway Premiership this season. The unbeaten run includes a remarkable 18 goals scored and just one conceded.

Meanwhile, across the divide, coach Fernando Da Cruz’s side are also unbeaten in their first eight matches of the term. However, three wins and five draws is a vastly different return. Additionally, Amakhosi have scored 13 goals while conceding eight.
