WWE has a new Intercontinental Champion, and Chad Gable's title reign is over after Monday Night RAW. Ethan Page beat the American wrestler on the November 2 episode for his first championship on the WWE main roster. Gable went in with an injured neck after taking Page's EgoPlex on the previous episode. He still went ahead with the defence, but his condition became a problem during the match. Page found his opening in the end and got the three-count, taking the title away from Gable.

Chad Gable's injured neck becomes a major problem during his Intercontinental Championship defence

Gable came out aggressive, landing several punches and putting Page on his back. Page answered with a twisting neckbreaker, then drove the champion chest-first into the corner. Gable managed to knock Page outside the ring, but his neck troubles soon came back.

So he switched to Page's left ankle, smashing it against the ring post and following up with two Dragon Screws. The champion also caught Page in an Ankle Lock, and Page struggled towards the bottom rope until he got out of the submission.

Gable wasn't done yet. He hit an Angle Slam that sent Page crashing onto announce desk, then followed it with a middle-rope moonsault. At that point the match was still very much in his hands.

But Page turned things around near the timekeeper's area, sending Gable face-first into the barricade before dropping him into the timekeeper's section.

Ethan Page escapes another Ankle Lock before hitting the EgoPlex to capture his first main roster championship

Gable tried a diving headbutt from the top rope, but Page raised his feet to block it. The champion recovered fast and locked in another Ankle Lock, so Page had to look for a way out.

Page used his free leg to kick Gable in the face, then reached the corner and broke the hold.

After that he hit an over-the-shoulder powerslam from the middle rope, and Gable survived the pin attempt.

The American wrestler didn't give up either. He answered with a powerbomb and went straight back to the Ankle Lock, putting Page under pressure again.

Page got out of the submission once more and found his finishing chance. He hit Gable with the EgoPlex and secured the three-count.

The win ended Gable's Intercontinental Championship reign and gave Ethan Page his first title on WWE's main roster.
