Angel Guardian commended fellow Filipino-Palestinian beauty queen Gazini Ganados for standing up for Palestine despite the potential consequences of speakilng out on the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

During the recent red-carpet premiere of her latest advocacy film, “Sa Tamang Oras at Panahon” (STOP), Guardian told Inquirer Entertainment that she admired Ganados for remaining vocal about her convictions.

“I actually commend her for doing that. It’s not easy, di ba? Ang dami mong pwedeng makalaban na minsan ka-close mo. Na hindi mo alam na naniniwala sa iba. Like iba kayo nang paniniwala,” she said.

“And it will never be easy to fight over things like this. Kaya ayun, I commend her for doing that. It’s hard,” she added.

Guardian, who has also been vocal about her Palestinian heritage, said she has yet to experience any professional repercussions for expressing her views.

“As of now wala pa naman. Not that I’m aware about it kasi I’m very vocal about din naman kasi. I don’t hide about my ethnicity din. And ako I stand with what I believe in din. Kung ano ‘yung nabasa at napag-aralan ko,” she said.

Earlier this month, Ganados revealed on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” that some brands have been avoiding discussions about her pro-Palestine stance, which she said has affected her career.

“I do [get in trouble for that]. In fact, there are some brands that are quite avoiding the topic,” she said.

The beauty queen clarified that her position does not mean she is against all Israelis.

“I’m not against Israel as a whole because I know that some [Israelis] have big hearts and nice intentions,” she said. “It’s just that [we’re in an] era where we have to stand [up for] humanity.”

In May, Ganados also proudly showcased her Palestinian heritage during a photo shoot for Miss Grand International All-Stars, where she finished in the Top 5.

Meanwhile, Guardian currently stars in “Sa Tamang Oras at Panahon” alongside fellow “Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre” star Kelvin Miranda. The advocacy film tackles social issues and seeks to raise awareness of the challenges and choices people face in their everyday lives.

Guardian said the film aims to remind audiences, particularly students, of the importance of valuing time and considering the legacy they leave behind.

“Sometimes we tend to forget na life is, death is inevitable. Hindi naman siya ‘yung pwede mo lang sayangin. Kasi hindi mo alam kung kailan siya matatapos,” she said.

She added that the film encourages viewers to reflect on how they spend their time and how they treat others.

“Are you gonna be a bully? Are you gonna be a good person? Paano mo ba gustong marimember ng mga tao? At the end of the day it applies to everyone na what’s important is ‘yung legacy na iiwan mo,” Guardian said. /ra
