CINTAA Row Turns Ugly: Viral video shows Poonam Dhillon, Padmini Kolhapure, Upasana Singh in heated fight

The internal dispute within the Cine and TV Artistes' Association (CINTAA) has spilled into the public domain, with viral videos showing a heated confrontation between several prominent members of the actors' body.

The clash, involving former president Poonam Dhillon, former vice-president Padmini Kolhapure, Upasana Singh,

Kunickaa Sadanand

, Priti Sapru and others, reportedly prompted Mumbai Police to intervene at the association's office. The videos circulating on social media show members trading allegations over the association's leadership, documents and access to the premises, with tensions escalating before police officials stepped in to restore order.

Padmini Kolhapure questions CINTAA committee dissolution

In one widely circulated video, Padmini Kolhapure is seen in a tense exchange with Priti Sapru, Upasana Singh, Kunickaa Sadanand and other members.Defending her position, Padmini says, “The committee is not dissolved. Show me the order that says the committee is dissolved.” She and Poonam Dhillon also alleged that the association's data had been stolen, with Poonam heard saying, “Our data has been stolen.”Meanwhile, some members alleged that important CINTAA documents were being removed from the premises. The escalating confrontation eventually required police intervention.

Police officer loses patience amid CINTAA confrontation

Another video from the incident shows a police officer attempting to bring the situation under control. Visibly frustrated by the shouting, the officer is heard telling the members, “You are actresses, and I feel bad speaking to you like this, but we don't even speak to slum dwellers in this manner. You aren't even listening.”The officer further urged the group to lower their voices and listen to the police, adding, “Look at your reputation.

The public is watching from all around.” He also warned that the situation had reached a point where there needed to be a limit to the confrontation.During the commotion, Poonam Dhillon was also seen asking Kunickaa Sadanand to stop filming the incident.

Police clarify role in CINTAA document dispute

As the disagreement over documents intensified, Upasana Singh and Priti Sapru raised concerns about allegedly missing paperwork. The police officer, however, clarified that document verification was not within the police's remit.“Mera kaam nahi hai. Agar unhone koi tampering kiya hai, whatever they have done with the papers, the labour commission will ask them to produce it. They will produce. Hum jo yaha aaye hai yeh law and order situation ke liye hai,” (It's not my job. If they have done any tampering, whatever they have done with the papers, the Labour Commission will ask them to produce it. They will produce [them]. We have come here for the law and order situation) the officer said.Kunickaa Sadanand continued to insist that the matter was more serious than a civil dispute. “This is not a civil matter, it's criminal,” she said, before alleging that an election had been called and that certain members should not have access to the premises.

What triggered the CINTAA showdown?

According to the allegations emerging from the confrontation, the dispute reportedly escalated after Upasana Singh and other members accused Padmini Kolhapure and Poonam Dhillon of removing important CINTAA documents without authorisation.

Upasana has reportedly filed a complaint at Versova Police Station in Mumbai in connection with the alleged incident. The videos have since gained traction on social media, bringing the internal disagreement within CINTAA into the public spotlight. However, the allegations made by the different sides have not been independently established. As of now, neither Poonam Dhillon nor Padmini Kolhapure has issued an official statement addressing the controversy.
