Creative Economy Ministry backs 46 brands to tap export via TEI 2026

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Creative Economy is backing 46 brands to expand the reach of Indonesian creative products in international markets and drive sustainable exports through participation in the Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2026.
Creative Economy Minister Teuku Riefky Harsya said that bringing these local brands to TEI 2026 goes beyond raising awareness—it aims to tap into global market potential and secure long-term export deals.
"Our target is not merely to introduce Indonesian creative products to the global market, but to ensure they generate sustainable export transactions," Harsya said in a statement received on Thursday.
The Ministry of Creative Economy's participation in the event is part of a collaborative effort with the Trade Ministry to broaden international market access for Indonesian creative products.
According to Statistics Indonesia (BPS) data, for the January–April 2026 period, the United States (US) was the primary destination for Indonesian creative economy exports, reaching US$3.31 billion.
The exports were dominated by the fashion subsector, at US$2.8 billion, followed by crafts at US$480 million and culinary at US$15.55 million.
The culinary subsector is seen as having immense potential to penetrate global markets. Trade Ministry data shows that Indonesia's global food product exports reached around US$59.04 billion in 2025.
The US is the second-largest export market for Indonesian food products after China. In 2025, food exports to the US reached US$5.97 billion, a 14.06 percent increase from US$5.23 billion in 2024. This accounted for roughly 10.1 percent of Indonesia's total global food exports.
Held at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD City in Tangerang, Banten, the 41st edition of TEI runs from October 14 to 18, 2026.
At the event, the Creative Economy Ministry is hosting three booths showcasing 46 local brands, including 18 from the crafts subsector, 16 from the culinary subsector, and 12 from the fashion subsector.
These brands were previously fostered by the ministry through its Accelerating the Export of Indonesian Creations (ASIK) program.
Through TEI 2026, the Ministry of Creative Economy hopes to empower more local brands to turn their creative potential into economic value, broaden their market reach, and establish sustainable export transactions.
