Cianjur deports 11 foreigners for immigration violations

Translate

Cianjur, W Java (ANTARA) - Cianjur Immigration Office in West Java deported 11 foreign nationals for immigration violations between January and September 2026, including overstaying and using fraudulent documents.

Office head Riky Afrimon said the group comprised seven Saudi nationals and one each from Malaysia, Bangladesh, Yemen, and the Maldives.

The deportations followed inspections and investigations into suspected immigration violations in several areas of Cianjur District.

“Field inspections, document analysis, and further inquiries involving the foreign nationals and their sponsors revealed discrepancies in the administrative information recorded in their stay permits,” he said here Wednesday.

The office’s intelligence and enforcement subunit imposed administrative immigration sanctions following systematic monitoring in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Seven foreign nationals had overstayed their permits by more than 60 days. Other violations included using fictitious sponsors to obtain stay permits, breaching immigration rules, and using forged documents.

The discrepancies indicated suspected misuse of stay permits, prompting the office to impose sanctions ranging from permit cancellation to deportation.

“Immigration law enforcement is carried out professionally, proportionately, and accountably, while upholding human rights and the presumption of innocence,” Riky said.

He said the office would strengthen oversight of foreign nationals holding stay permits to safeguard the immigration system’s credibility, ensure legal certainty, and maintain public order in Cianjur.

The measures are based on Article 75(1) of Law No. 6 of 2011 on Immigration, which authorizes immigration officials to sanction foreign nationals who violate Indonesian laws and regulations.

Under Article 75(2)(a) and (f), the sanctions include stay-permit cancellation, deportation, and entry bans, he said.
